How to get rid of overthinking habit

Hi and hello there! I want to share something with you guys about how to get rid of overthinking. It is actually my assignment, and I really think that this assignment is very related to me cause I am an overthinking person and from that I slowly develop depression and anxiety. I know somehow most of you think that depression and anxiety is not the thing that you can easily said to yourself and actually this kind of thing have to be diagnosed from the doctor. So, for those that has the same problems with me, let us read this essay maybe it will helps.


Do you have any bad habits? I am sure you do have one, because people are not perfect. Bad habits is common among people, where they used it as a life routine. An example of a bad habit is overthinking. According to a website called Success Consiousness authored by Remez Sasson, overthinking is exactly what it means, thinking too much. The website also said that when you think too much, instead of acting and doing things, you are overthinking rather than taking the actions that we need. This bad habit consumes your energy and disables you to make decisions in your life and everyday situations. There are major several steps to get rid of overthinking bad habit.

First of all, you have to identify your triggers about overthinking. You have to know when you start to overthink, because most of the times, overthinking people does not realise when they start to overthinking. After knowing the time, you should identify your bad habit will come in what situation then analyse the reasons behind all the starting to overthink. All in all, in order to get rid of overthinking, you have to identify your trigger that leads you to the bad habit.

Besides that, getting a new good habit will avoid you from thinking too much. For instance, you can replace it with journaling and blogging. As for journaling and blogging, you can write anything in your mind to express what you have been thinking. You have to train your mind to be well organized by journaling and blogging. In conclusion, replace overthinking with something that can give you benefits in the end is a good way to get rid of it.

Last but not least, reward yourself is one of the steps to get over this. When you reward yourself, you will feel more valuable and precious. This is the way that you can appreciate yourself as a person, like people used to say love yourself is more important. Overthinking may leads you to think horribly about yourself and cause you to become more frustrated, As a conclusion, motivate yourself with something that can give to yourself is very important to get rid of overthinking.

All in all, these are the steps to get rid of bad overthinking habit. Find what triggers you, replace your bad habit with a good one and reward yourself. Overcoming your bad habit is very hard if you do not get any support from your friends, families and your loved ones. If you do all this steps, you are able to get rid of it and be better version of yourself!
